About Autotrolej
The public utility company Autotrolej d.o.o. operates urban and suburban passenger transport in the Rijeka area — from Kraljevica in the east to Mošćenička Draga in the west.

Fleet
The fleet consists of rigid and articulated city buses, minibuses for narrow city lines, vans — two of which are adapted for passengers with disabilities — and a double-decker sightseeing bus.
Fleet renewal
- 2013 — the first 21 compressed natural gas vehicles in Rijeka public transport; the first entered service on 11 May 2013.
- 2017 — 10 new CNG vehicles; midi vehicles for smaller city lines introduced for the first time.
- 2019 — 22 new EURO 6 buses through the project “Procurement of new buses for KD Autotrolej”, financed by the Cohesion Fund.
- 2022 — 37 new buses (articulated, rigid, city-suburban and midi) in the second phase of the same project.
- The “Strengthening the public transport system” project — alongside 32 new buses it introduces information displays at stops, smart traffic lights at junctions and an app announcing bus arrivals.
Ownership structure
The company is jointly owned by the City of Rijeka as majority owner and ten neighbouring towns and municipalities.
